This exam is conducted to recruit approximately 17727 Group B and Group C posts across various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Government of India, as well as Constitutional Bodies, Statutory Bodies, and Tribunals.

EligibilityEducational Qualification:
- Junior Statistical Officer:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level; or
- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
- Statistical Investigator Grade-II:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute.
- The candidates must have studied Statistics as a subject in all the three years or all the six semesters of the graduation course.
- Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC):
- Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.
- Desirable Qualification:
- Minimum one-year research experience in any recognized university or recognized Research Institution.
- Degree in Law or Human Rights from a recognized university.
- All Other Posts:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.

Candidates appearing in the final year of their graduation can also apply; however, they must possess the essential qualification on or before 01-08-2024.

Scheme of SSC CGL Examination
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination is conducted in two tiers:
- Tier-I
- Tier-II
Marks scored by candidates in Computer Based Examinations, if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized using the formula published by the Commission. There is no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of the scores of any stage/Tier(s) of the examination.
Scheme of Tier-I Examination
- Type of Questions: Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi, except for the English Comprehension section.
- Negative Marking: 0.50 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Duration of Exam: 1 hour (1 hour and 20 minutes for candidates eligible for scribe as mentioned in the official notification).
- Normalization of Marks: Marks scored in multiple shifts will be normalized using the formula published by the Commission (Notice No: 1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07-02-2019). Normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut-off marks.

Scheme of Tier-II Examination
Tier-II consists of Paper-I & Paper-II conducted in separate shift(s)/day(s).
- Paper-I: Compulsory for all the posts.
- Paper-II: For candidates applying for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Statistical Investigator Grade-II in the office of Registrar General of India (Ministry of Home Affairs). Only those candidates who are shortlisted in Tier-I for these posts are eligible to appear for Paper-II.
